Welcome to JPN202: First Year Japanese - Second Term (CRN 14799)
Placement:
JPN202 is for students having completed JPN201 or the equivalent. If you are unsure if JPN202 is the right class for you, please email me about taking a placement test at: nao.okumura@pcc.edu
You can see what will be covered in this course by browsing the JPN202 CCOG page.
In this course you will learn to speak, read, write and understand Japanese from the first day of class. We have face to face class meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00pm - 3:20pm. You can access our course site and materials by going through D2L Brightspace - the learning platform that all courses use 91르적.
During our class meetings we will engage in a variety of pair, small group and whole class activities where you learn to read, write, speak and understand Japanese. Learning language works best when people get to know and trust one another - this can be challenging, but also very rewarding.
In addition to our class meetings, you will also have work that you will complete asynchronously on your own time, such as homework and projects. You will need to spend at least 4-5 hours a week studying and completing homework assignments per week. I also will offer office hours where we can meet one-on-one so that I can help and answer your questions.
Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions about the course (nao.okumura@pcc.edu).
