Color Literacy for Everyone: Exploring 21st Century Color
Forget the theory! Dive into the complexity of color while exploring core concepts from science, art, history and psychology. Each class includes fun, hands-on exercises focused on learning about color from personal experience.
Color surrounds us and plays a vital role in our lives every day. Color Literacy starts with learning to see and describe the colors around us, expands to exploring color perception, and results in understanding color as a language used for expressing visual messages. Go beyond the color wheel to see and describe color in three dimensions using a variety of color models from art, design and science. Explore the many factors that create the perception of color. Become fluent in translating and "speaking" the language of color. For artists and designers, working well with color requires going beyond traditional color theories by exploring how to communicate most effectively with color. For non-artists and designers, learning more about color beautifully enriches life at home, work and play.
